In the Terre di Pisa, playing golf means crossing the length and breadth of the territory, from the blue of the sea to the green of the hills with the common denominator of beauty and harmony. You can do it in any season, thanks to the temperate climate, the naturally undulating terrain, the wide spaces. Both golf courses and practice courses are located near places with a strong tourist vocation, so you can play all day or as a recreational moment, combining a visit to museums, a wine tasting in a cellar, a swim in the sea or a dip in the spa.

The seaside resort just 15 km from Pisa, offers two golf courses, respectively 9 and 18 holes, able to satisfy experienced players and beginners. Both have the unique characteristic of being a few steps from the sea and inserted in the green of the Natural Park of San Rossore.

The Tirrenia Golf Club is a private club that dates back to 1968. The course was designed by the English architect Ken Cotton in the green of the pine forest and Mediterranean scrub. Elected a few years ago by the magazine “Golf Digest” as the best 9-hole course in Italy, it offers players a harmonious and pleasant course. In 2017 was inaugurated the driving range with 10 synthetic hitters. The mild climate of Tirrenia and the characteristics of the course, sheltered from the cold winter winds and ventilated in summer, mean that it remains open all year round. The Club House offers comfort and services such as a bar and restaurant.

The Cosmopolitan Golf & Country Club is a 18-hole golf course, with Club House and tourist-hotel residence. It is in an area rich in charm and history: in 1933 it was home to the Tirrenia Film Studios, then purchased in 1961 by Carlo Ponti’s Cosmopolitan Film. For golf, there is a driving range with indoor stations, putting green and pitching green, golf-cart and trolley rental. A technically interesting course, voted in 1993 as the best new course in Italy, on 70 hectares of land within the San Rossore Park.

In addition to golf courses, practice fields for golf lessons can be found in some accommodation facilities such as Agriturismo San Martino near Ponsacco or Le Sodole Country & Golf Resort outside Pontedera on the road to the cozy  village of Montecastello. It has a golf driving range open all year round, composed of 4 indoor and 9 outdoor positions on synthetic grass mats. Putting Green of 160 square meters of synthetic grass with 9 holes designed by Nicklaus Design, Club House.

At the foot of San Miniato, white truffle and slow food town, is the Fontevivo Golf Club, an executive course of 9 holes particularly suitable for beginners. The course is characterized by a high playability thanks to an accurate design of the holes that, however, does not avoid the presence of trees, steep slopes and some bunkers. Complete the offer the driving range, Puttingreen and clubhouse with beautiful restaurant, bar, tennis courts and soccer, physiotherapy center.
