Summer in Pontedera – Shopping under the stars

Shopping under the stars features special late-night opening hours for shops every Tuesday and Thursday evening in July in Pontedera, from 9.30 pm until 11.30 pm.

There will be entertainment including concerts, street theatre and children’s activities in the streets and squares of the town centre.

From wooden toys to the metropolitan clown Mr Bang, in Piazza Curtatone at 9.30 pm on the festival’s opening night, to soap bubbles, jazz music and Elisa Tamburrini’s live painting – a huge 4×4-metre canvas formed by the silhouettes of people who will interact with the artwork throughout the evenings. Every Thursday, starting from 9 July, there will be an exhibition of Vespa models that have shaped the history of the scooter, whilst every evening there will be a participatory photographic installation.

Snapshots, faces and fragments of the city will come together to create a collective narrative of Pontedera.
