The small community of Roffia, a hamlet of San Miniato, can boast of its nativity scene that has been chosen for the second year running for the exhibition of 100 nativity scenes at the Vatican.
Under Bernini’s colonnade, the work created during the summer months will be on display, setting the nativity in the tradition of peasant culture, while alongside the representation, there is a tweet from Pope Francis: “Let us pause before the Child of Bethlehem. Let us allow God’s tenderness to warm our hearts. Let us let the tenderness of God warm our hearts.”
In Roffia, adjacent to the parish church, meanwhile, the nativity scene exhibited in the Vatican last Christmas 2020, which few people were able to appreciate and which brought the small reality on the national television circuit, will be open to visitors from 5 December.
