Discover the art of cheese-making and visit the dairies, where Italy’s oldest cheeses – including Pecorino Toscano PDO – are produced every day. This is the essence of “Caseifici Aperti”: an event now in its fourth year, offering free guided tours of the Consortium’s dairies to learn the secrets of cheese-making.

This year there is a major new development: the initiative will begin in May but will continue throughout June and July. Dates: 2 May to 24 July

Cheese making factories in Terre di Pisa

– Visiting times: 6 tours a day, departing every half hour (1st tour at 9.30 am, last tour at 12.00 pm);
