Olive Oil Festival in Ghizzano | Peccioli

It will be a special edition that of the 46th edition of the Sagra dell’Olio Novo in Ghizzano di Peccioli, Usually held in February, but also in 2023 the event returns with a ‘Spring edition’ that will take place in May, more precisely on the weekends of 13-14 and 20-21 May.

You will find food stands open on Saturday for dinner and on Sunday also for lunch to taste bruschette prepared with olive oil and garlic and other Tuscan dishes. Musical and theatrical performances alternate during the event.

The festival was generally held in February because years ago, the olives were harvested in late November or early December and then pressed. At the end of the pressing, with the warehouses cleaned out, people celebrated the harvest with a lunch set up in the estate’s warehouses. The festival wants to remember those moments of feasting and conviviality.
