Free entrance to the National Museums of Pisa and Calci

On 2 June, Republic Day, the National Museums of Pisa are open to the public free of charge.

On the same day, the Regatta of the Ancient Maritime Republics takes place along the river Arno.
The Museum of Ancient Ships, which bears witness to the city’s maritime heritage, is open all day.
At the National Museum of San Matteo, the exhibition ‘The Sea That Unites: Mediterranean Techniques and Cults between Pisa and Catalonia’ continues. At the National Museum of Palazzo Reale, visitors can see the exhibition ‘Confronti’.

Opening hours on Tuesday 2 June
Museum of Ancient Ships: open 10:00–19:30 with free admission
National Museum of San Matteo: open 9:00–14:00 with free admission
National Museum of Palazzo Reale: open 9.00–13.30 and 16.00–19.00 with free admission
Monumental Charterhouse of Calci: open 9.00–13.30 with free access to the courtyard and the church.

Wednesday 3 June: possible closing at different times for the four venues

Sunday 7th June: museums open with free admission as part of ‘Sunday at the Museum’, which takes place on the first Sunday of every month. On this day, there is no charge for visiting state-owned monuments, museums, galleries, archaeological sites, parks and gardens.
