The Gran Fondo, now in its 24th edition, takes place on 24th September . An event that every year confirms itself as one of the appointments included in the increasingly popular ‘Inbici Top Challenge’ circuit, as well as in the ‘Coppa Toscana on the road’ calendar. Three routes of the new edition: Light – 41.4 km, Classic – 89.7 km, Marathon – 122 km that start from Pomarance and cross Larderello, Sasso Pisano, Castelnuovo Valdicecina and Radicondoli

The Light route allows one to enjoy the beautiful roads of the Colline Metallifere in a slower mode. The route winds in the first part towards the south, in the direction of the village of San Dalmazio and then climbs up again at Castelnuovo Val di Cecina towards Larderello and back to Pomarance. There are two timed sections: “Salzburg”, which participants will find from km 8 to km 13, and “Best Climber” from km 23 to km 25.

The Classic route always descends southwards but deviates at the height of San Dalmazio to proceed towards Montecastelli Pisano and Monteguidi. Descending to Radicondoli, the route crosses the woods, heading towards Castelnuovo Val di Cecina and then to the southernmost point: Sasso Pisano. Heading back towards Pomarance, one passes through Larderello and Montecerboli. Here there will be two timed sections: ‘Salzburg’ and ‘Stuttgart’.

The Marathon route follows the Classic route with the addition of a variation to the north that touches the village of Montegemoli. Here too there will be two timed sections: ‘Athens’ – on the iconic Cerretemberg – and ‘World Cup’.
