Fridays at the Rock | Santa Maria a Monte

The summer event ‘Fridays at the Rock’ is back: this cultural programme brings the evenings in Santa Maria a Monte to life every Friday, from 5 June to 10 July, at the La Rocca Archaeological Site – the original core of the ancient medieval castle and a landmark of the historic centre – starting at 9.30 pm. The festival kicks off on 5 June with the Archives Night, dedicated to promoting the documentary heritage held by the Civic Museum and the Municipal Historical Archive.

This is followed by two theatre evenings: on 12 June, ‘Bianco su Bianco’, a brilliant comedy about friendship and contemporary art, and on 10 July, ‘Quella là… che s’ha da fa pè campà’, a theatrical narrative exploring the themes of prejudice and human fragility.

Not to be missed on 3 July, a guided tour of the underground city, exploring natural cavities, cisterns and hypogea in the historic centre.

Finally, on 26 June, an evening in memory of the music of Lara Saint Paul
