Fridays at the Fortress | Santa Maria a Monte

With the beginning of summer, Santa Maria a Monte proposes once again the cycle of evening initiatives called I Venerdì in Rocca (Fridays at the Fortress), aimed at making its historical centre even more familiar.

The initiatives are scheduled in the Archaeological Area La Rocca every Friday evening from 1 to 29 July, starting at 9.30 pm.

On 1 and 8 July, two plays from the Intesa Teatro Amatoriale circuit are scheduled: L’intervista, a psychological thriller by the Teatro Studio theatre company, and La Verità, vi prego, sull’Amore, a semi-serious play by the Compagnia Teatrale No, Grazie! theatre company, will be staged in the evocative setting of the Archaeological Area’s crypt. Admission is free.

The following Friday, 15 July, will be a theatrical guided tour organised by City Grand Tour to discover the historical centre with events, characters, legends, and artistic heritage between tradition and history. Reservation recommended, with fee.
The underground city will be the focus of guided tours on Friday 22 July. Free participation but reservation required.
Concluding the cycle on 29 July will be Le Notti dell’Archeologia (The Nights of Archaeology), combining stargazing with professional telescopes. Free admission.
