Filippo Mazzei Week | Pisa

From 15th to 22nd March, a week of events to celebrate the figure of Filippo Mazzei, who died in Pisa more than two hundred years ago after a life of philosophy, agronomy, medicine, trade and love for art.

Filippo Mazzei died in Pisa on 19 March 1816 after a life of travelling around the world; in 1990 the Circolo Filippo Mazzei was founded in his memory; since 2016, on the occasion of the two hundredth anniversary of his death, a series of events have been organised in Pisa (but in 2022 also in Lajatico and Palaia) to celebrate this multi-faceted figure who dealt with various disciplines.
