The review, now in its fifth edition, offers from 5 March to 20 November a full calendar of events, excursions, visits, meetings with experts, artistic and sensory workshops and much more hosted within the Regional and State protected areas of the Bientina Marsh, the Montefalcone State Nature Reserve, the Tanali Woods and Cerbaie di Bientina Nature Reserve (Pisa side), the Bottaccio Woods, Lake Sibolla and Lake Gherardesca (Lucca side).

Tuesday 14 June The moon and the sunset – Night hike in Cerbaie 
Description: departing from Quattro Strade di Bientina at dusk, we will walk along some easy paths into the night, listening to the sounds of the forest and observing the views illuminated by the June full moon: the Supermoon.
Length: about 5 km. Height difference: 100 metres uphill and the same amount downhill. Difficulty: T (tourist).
Duration: approximately 3 hours, with packed dinner at participants’ charge.
Meeting point: 8.30 pm at “Le Sughere” Park, Quattro Strade di Bientina. Recommended clothing: seasonal clothing suitable for walking outdoors, long trousers and trainers or trekking shoes. Reservation compulsory. Cost: free.

Friday 17 June Night-time ornithological excursion: Birdwatching in the dark in Bosco Tanali
Description: excursion dedicated to listening to nocturnal birds: Owl, Tawny Owl and the protagonist, the Nightjar, together with the inhabitants of the woods and reeds: amphibians and some elusive mammals.
Alessio Quaglierini, ornithologist and environmental excursionist guide, will lead the group.
Length: approx. 3 km. Difficulty: T (tourist). Duration: approximately 3 hours (1 hour actual walking time).
Meeting: 8.40 p.m. car park of the Bosco Tanali Reserve at Caccialupi. Recommended clothing: seasonal clothing suitable for walking outdoors, long trousers and trainers or walking shoes. Reservation required. Cost: free.

Saturday 18 June Night-time birdwatching excursion: Birdwatching at Chiaro Nuovo
Description: we inaugurate a night excursion in the northern part of the Bosco Tanali Reserve: the Chiaro Nuovo, created a decade ago by restoring precious marsh habitats. Discover the birds and amphibians that frequent the area.
Alessio Quaglierini, ornithologist and environmental excursionist guide, will lead the group.
Length: approx. 3.5 km. Difficulty: T (tourist). Duration: approximately 3 hours (1 hour actual walking time). Meeting point: 8.40 p.m. car park of the Castelvecchio sports field near Caccialupi, in via della Dogana (SP54); park at the side of the road. Recommended clothing: seasonal clothing suitable for walking outdoors, long trousers and trainers or walking shoes. Reservation required. Cost: free
