Chianni Opera Festival in its seventh edition proposes Saturday 8 July at 9 p.m.: the magic of opera returns to the beautiful medieval square of Chianni Castle with Giacomo Puccini’s ‘Tosca’.

Of Etruscan origin, Chianni was a medieval castle disputed between the Bishop of Volterra and the Republic of Pisa before passing definitively under Florence. If from a historical point of view it does not present any particular attractions, apart from the Pieve di San Donato with its apse carved out of a tower of the castle, it is an ideal place for food and wine and landscape itineraries.

Its woods are beaten by wild boar hunters, in whose honour one of the most heartfelt festivals in Tuscany is celebrated in November.
