Il Carnevale Sanromanese takes place on 28th January, 4 and 11 February 2024
Every year nursery school children choose the theme of the parades from a fairy tale or a story. The theme is then implemented with the construction of four wagons, with the four carriages of the train and with the costumes worn by children and entertainers. The final day includes the delivery of a gift and snacks
The Carnival is preceded by intense preparations in which the entire town participates: the lion’s share is done by the preparations for the floats and costumes, with intense and patient work by seamstresses and master floaters, aided by adults and children. . There is great fervor for the preparation of the carnival decorations, the preparation of typical desserts such as lies and chatter, and the exhibition of drawings made by children on the carnival masks. A jewel in the cap of the Carnival is the Baby band, the musical group made up of dozens of children who, after long preparation with the help of teachers and the local music school, open masked courses every year.
