In San Romano, the Nativity Scene tradition is a time honoured one. Since 1922 every year a Nativity Scene has been set up inside a lateral chapel of the church. Since 1995, the display has been moved to outdoors, first in the garden and then in the cloisters, growing in size and with an increasing level of detail. It has now become an authentic tradition, known in the neighbouring towns and in the rest of Tuscany. The San Romano Nativity Scene in numbers: 300 square metre display, 2 months to put it together, 20.000 yearly visitors on average, 1922 year the tradition began, 94 editions including the present one.
The Nativity Scene of San Romano is open every day from 8 December to the first Sunday after the Epiphany.
Opening times: 9.00-12.00am, 3.00-6.30pm.
