ArtInsolite is a summer cycle of contemporary art exhibitions that turns the charming village of Lajatico into an open-air museum: squares, streets and buildings are invaded by art installations (each year a different theme) as if in a film set.

This year, art on stage by the Spanish artist Manolo Valdés, one of the most important artists on the international scene: in the spaces of the natural amphitheatre where the concert is held every year, “Clio Dorada” appears, a monumental sculpture in brass and steel, with a headdress made of hundreds of branches tangled together. His works also arrive in Piazza Vittorio Veneto in Lajatico, where the work “Irene” has been installed, once again a very vital female figure with an almost Renaissance flavour.

Lajatico hosts the project “Naturae – La Compagnia della Fortezza nella Salina di Volterra“, a large open-air photographic installation that invades the streets and alleys of the town. Over 100 photographs recounting the unrepeatable moments and dreamlike visions that the Compagnia della Fortezza brought last year, as the final act of the #trentannidifortezza project, inside the former State Saltwork of Saline di Volterra (now owned by the Locatelli group), which a few days ago opened its first boutique in Lajatico, mixing the purity of salt with the scents and flavours of other Tuscan excellences.
