Maestro Andrea Bocelli takes centre stage on 23 July, with a special evening dedicated to the 30th anniversary of “Romanza”, an album recorded in 1996, which features songs that have gone down in music history. Every romanza speaks to the soul, just like the iconic tracks from the album of the same name, which for thirty years has epitomised Andrea Bocelli’s talent: songs such as “Time to Say Goodbye”, “Vivo per lei” , ‘Il mare calmo della sera’, ‘Vivere’ and ‘Miserere’ form a musical project that still holds the unrivalled record of being the best-selling album of all time by an Italian artist.

The Teatro del Silenzio is set amongst the picturesque hills of Lajatico, a little gem in the province of Pisa, which for the rest of the year remains untouched in its perfect harmony. The theatre’s structure is erected specifically for the event and dismantled after the final performance. Lajatico is Andrea Bocelli’s home town, to which he returns every summer for a concert attended by fans from all over the world. Since 2006, the spectacular natural amphitheatre has hosted world-class artists such as Laura Pausini, Noa, Lang Lang, Nicola Piovani, Placido Domingo, Toquinho, Zucchero, Elisa, José Carreras and Katherine Jenkins.
