Fair of the “Amaretto Santacrocese” | Santa Croce sull’Arno

The Santa Croce sull’Arno Amaretto Festival is 33 years old and, as per tradition, takes place on 8 December in Santa Croce sull’Arno

The Amaretto Santacrocese is a dry cone-shaped biscuit on a square base, baked on a layer of wafer, golden in colour with a slightly darker tip. It is generally made with almond flour, sugar and eggs, to which grated lemon peel is added, giving it a special aroma.

In the afternoon, the market exhibition opens in Piazza Matteotti, where you can taste and buy amaretti biscuits made by artisans. Tasting of typical Tuscan products with the Slow Food Street There will also be entertainment and shows for young and old. In closing, the eagerly awaited proclamation of the “Amaretto d’oro”.
