The WWF Oasis Dune di Tirrenia was born in 1997, in collaboration with the San Rossore Park, in an area of the coast that has a lush development of Mediterranean vegetation and woodland. It preserves the last dunes of the Pisan coastline up to 12 meters high: it is forbidden to enter the path unless accompanied by WWF staff.
Accessible to disabled people
The area is crossed by paths, including a nature trail for the disabled, and is equipped with educational tables and wooden barriers that delimit the dunes.
The Mediterranean scrub
Among the Mediterranean essences there are the juniper, the strawberry tree, the holm oak, the fragrant broom. Among the species of sand there are the precious golden rod of the beaches, endemic to the coast of upper Tuscany, and more common plants.
It preserves the last dunes of the Pisan coast up to 12 meters high: access to the path is prohibited unless accompanied by WWF personnel.
