Centro storico Lari, centro, piazze e luoghi limitrofi, Lari
The traditional Lari Cherry Festival is back, marking its 68th edition: three weekends: May 30–31, June 1–2, and June 6–7.
Days dedicated to taste and art, exploring culinary excellence and the visit to the Castello dei Vicari. Visitors will have the chance to savor the ancient and delicious cherry, a fruit that has always made this region unique with its 14 native varieties, recognized by the Ministry as a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI).
The Tradition of Lari Cherries
Cherry production in the Pisan Hills, particularly in the Lari area, boasts a centuries-old tradition, as evidenced by the numerous varieties still cultivated today. Their diversity, combined with the unique soil and climate of the region, forms the basis for the distinctiveness of Lari cherries, enhanced by the knowledge and experience of the many local farmers.
During the festival, many artistic and cultural side events are organized. In the main square, stands run by local producers offer the public various cherry varieties in baskets and packages specially prepared for the occasion.
Many events scheduled
The festival takes place over three weekends with a packed program of events: special emphasis is placed on the Lari Cherry Market and the market for local food and wine products.
