International Museum Houses Days

After last year’s great success, with 401 museum houses and 83,000 visitors involved, the International Museum Houses Days dedicated to houses of memory and famous figures are back.

The initiative will be held on 18 and 19 April. For the second consecutive year, museum houses around the world will simultaneously open their doors to allow the public to discover the places where famous figures lived.

The Giosuè Carducci House is open in Santa Maria a Monte – address: Via Giosuè Carducci, 29.
This is the home where the Carducci family lived from 1856 to 1858. The museum hosts the permanent exhibition “Tender Giant” by Antonio Possenti, featuring works inspired by Giosuè’s poems in a style that blurs the lines between dream and reality. “The Carducci Family’s Stay in Santa Maria a Monte”: a free guided tour of the exhibition and Michele Carducci’s letters. Open Saturday (10 a.m.–1 p.m. and 3–6 p.m.) and Sunday (3–6 p.m.). Participants will receive a complimentary print.
