The theatre complex in Casciana Terme dedicated to Giuseppe Verdi, is historically one of the most important recreational and cultural venues in the spa town.
Between 1930 and 1950, it underwent restoration work and was converted into a cinema. During the most recent alterations, the wooden gallery that ran along three sides of the auditorium was removed and a new ceiling was installed, thereby altering the theatre’s acoustic characteristics. During the restoration process, two boxes were added to either side of the stage, accessible from the stalls, and a ‘horseshoe-shaped’ gallery was created, providing a total of 328 seats, including the stalls.
Today, the Teatro Verdi offers a rich and varied season featuring opera, theatre and drama, organised by the Associazione Guascone Teatro.
