National Wetlands Day – Bientina Marshes

World Wetlands Day was established to commemorate the adoption of the Convention on Wetlands of International Importance, signed in Ramsar on 2 February 1971. Wetlands play a vital role for the planet not only for the conservation and protection of biodiversity, but also for the essential eco-system services they provide: they provide us with drinking water, protect us from floods and inundation, mitigate erosion and combat climate change.

– 30th January and 1st February, excursions to the areas of greatest natural and historical interest in the Wetland of International Importance of the Bientina Marshes (Bosco di Tanali Natural Reserve)
