“International Moon Night”

As it does every year, the International Observe the Moon Night – or ‘Moon Night’ – is back, dedicated to discovering and observing Earth’s natural satellite, and is scheduled for Saturday 19 September.
The initiative, organised by NASA and leading scientific institutions, is an opportunity to take part in telescope observations of the Moon and explore topics inspired by Earth’s natural satellite.

On this date, the Moon will be in its first-quarter phase, the ideal time to admire craters, seas and mountain ranges along the ‘terminator’ (the line of shadow).
