“La Luna è Azzurra” – Puppet Theatre Festival | San Miniato

For three days (19th-21st June) San Miniato returns to be the Italian capital of Figure Theatre, a theatre of masks, puppets, and marionettes that occupy scenic locations in San Miniato with performances aimed at everyone, children and their families, young people, and a special section reserved for adults.

In the historical centre, figure theatre shows and animations, with free admission, no reservations.

Shuttle service from 8 pm from the Fontevivo car park, with the last shuttle from Piazza Alighieri at half past midnight.

“La Luna è Azzurra” (The moon is blue), a title borrowed from Gordon Craig to evoke the magic of summer nights, when reality is transformed, populated by characters of the childish imagination and becomes a fairy tale and a dream. Streets, alleys, squares and stairways of the historical center of San Miniato become the stage for an endless series of small shows for adults and children. It is the 39th edition of the Figure Theater, characterized by puppets, puppets and shadows.
