Gruppo Storico Sbandieratori e Balestrieri Città di Volterra

The Gruppo Storico Sbandieratori Città di Volterra was founded in 1978, on the initiative of the local AVIS section, on the basis of historical documents attesting to the presence of flag wavers in medieval Volterra. The aim is to revive the traditions, symbols and roots of the city's history and culture. Since then it has been called upon to perform countless times in Italy and abroad, gaining acclaim everywhere for the elegance of its costumes and the skill of its flag-throwers and musicians.
