Alpaca Country House is a completely renovated farmhouse dating back to 1200, located in the medieval village of Montecastello, in the picturesque hills of the province of Pisa, surrounding the area of Palaia and surrounded by a lush and unspoilt nature rich in history. Located within the Parco dell' Alta Valdera, it includes a green area of 5 hectares of land with centuries-old olive trees, mostly used for the breeding of Alpacas: delicious animals that produce fine wool. Together with the Alpacas live also a Falabella horse called Imperatore, a donkey called Giulio, seven Tibetan goats, a dog and three cats. Alpaca Country House includes 9 apartments: 4 inside the farmhouse and 5 just 3 km away from the building, in the village of Montecastello, plus a Yurt tent, the traditional home of the nomadic Mongolian people, set in the park among olive groves and fruit trees. As well as sleeping, at the Alpaca Country House you can of course eat. Our Osteria is ready to welcome you with simple but tasty recipes, typical of Tuscan cuisine: roasts cooked in a wood-burning oven, homemade pasta, bread and great fried food. The authenticity of the flavours and the genuineness of the food are guaranteed by direct supplies from local producers: zero km food, seasonal food and vegetables also from our own garden.
