Truffle Season around San Miniato

The San Miniato Basso Truffle Festival, now in its 16th edition, precedes the highlight of the San Miniato National Market Exhibition by one week. It takes place on 9 November in the Cultural Centre in Via Pizzigoni, as it does for “Pinocchio Ciok” and the masked Carnival parades.

There are many events scheduled from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm: creative workshops for children, Mastro Geppetto’s workshop with wooden objects. Throughout the day, there will be a market exhibition of typical local products and local businesses. You can purchase the white truffles from the San Miniato hills at the stands or taste them in the dining area (reservations at 338 6805604). From 12:00 pm, you can enjoy delicious traditional Tuscan dishes and specialities made with white truffles.

Throughout the day, you can also visit the Mycological Exhibition, browse the arts and crafts market stalls, and watch the theatre show “Pinocchio” (4.30 pm). For food lovers, at 5.30 pm, there will be a cooking show by professor and chef Marco Nebbiai, who will also host 16 events during the market exhibition in the upper village of San Miniato.
