Scalo Roncioni, Lungarno Mediceo, Pisa
On Saturday 21 May, the Walls of Pisa and the boat on the river Arno offer an unprecedented visit that for the first time ties together two opportunities to admire the city from two different perspectives.
Pisa from below and from above’: meeting at 2.45 p.m. at the Roncioni slipway on the Medici embankment, opposite the San Matteo, at 3 p.m. embarkation and navigation on the river for the ‘Tour Lungarni’, which allows visitors to discover the history and architecture of the buildings overlooking the river, recalling ‘Pisa as it was’ when city life was closely linked to the life of the Arno. At 4 p.m., descent again at the Roncioni stopover to reach Piazza delle Gondole where the guided tour on the Walls of Pisa begins at 4.15 p.m. From the splendours of the Maritime Republic to the events of the Second World War, the walk at high altitude takes visitors on a journey through time among the monumental beauties, to Piazza dei Miracoli where the descent is scheduled for around 5.45 p.m.
The event will be confirmed upon reaching a minimum number of participants and will be cancelled in the event of bad weather.
