Verde Pisa: the city in bloom

From April 17 to 19, the event “VerdePisa: the city in bloom” takes place in the streets and squares of the historic center. Dedicated to the world of horticulture and greenery, it features a widespread exhibition layout, with exhibitors from all over Italy.

Potted and cut flowers, ornamental and fruit-bearing plants, succulents, exotic outdoor species, and gardening and vegetable garden products come together to create a floral itinerary winding through some of the city’s most picturesque spots: Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, Corso Italia, Piazza XX Settembre, Logge di Banchi, Ponte di Mezzo, Piazza Garibaldi, Largo Ciro Menotti, Borgo Stretto, and Via Oberdan.

At the Logge di Banchi, the Meetings and Workshops area will be set up, featuring book presentations, entertainment activities, and workshops for children and adults. The Municipal Atrium will host an exhibition dedicated to the art of bonsai and suiseki.

On Saturday morning, a guided tour titled “Discovering the City’s Wild Flora” with Professor Lorenzo Peruzzi, director of the Pisa Botanical Garden. During the event, visitors can tour the Botanical Garden at a promotional admission price of 3 euros.
On Saturday at 12:00 PM, the exhibition “A Flower a Day: Images for the Gardenia Diary” by painter Maria Rita Stirpe will open at the Museum of Graphic Arts in Palazzo Lanfranchi. The exhibition is free to visit from April 18 to May 18, during museum hours. The works on display are taken from the Gardenia Diary.
