‘The Sounds of the Rosso Fiorentino | Volterra

The Pinacoteca Civica hosts the first musical performance of the cycle of six encounters ‘The Sounds of the Rosso Fiorentino by musician Gabriele Sempito. These performances aim to explore and celebrate the themes, characters and techniques in the opera through music and new technologies.

Next events on 30 March at 4.30 p.m., 27 April and 11 May at 9.15 p.m.

The Pinacoteca (Art Gallery) is housed in the prestigious Palazzo Minucci Solaini. It holds important and significant works of art, mostly from the Camaldolese Abbey but also from other collections in Volterra. Highlights include masterpieces such as Rosso Fiorentino’s Deposition, an admirable example of Florentine Mannerism, Taddeo di Bartolo’s large 15th-century polyptych and an altarpiece by Ghirlandaio.
