The history of the vine in this territory winds through the centuries up to the present day. In 1968 the Sagra del vino (Wine Festival) was born (at the beginning of October), while in 1977 the DOC was obtained with two types: a red based on Sangiovese, Trebbiano, Malvasia, and other varieties such as Canaiolo and Colorino, and a white based on Trebbiano, Malvasia and Vermentino, which can also be produced as Vin Santo, dry, semi-dry or sweet.
