Permanent exhibition of the Warrior Princes at Casa Bicocchi i | Pomarance

Casa Bicocchi represents a cross-section of 19th century bourgeois life with refined furnishings. The domestic rooms are here, with the original furnishings reconstructed. The imposing furnishings, the refinement of the decorations on the ceilings and the preciousness of the fabrics and French wallpapers give the rooms a general tone of sumptuousness and well-being and indicate different and unrepeatable ways and lifestyles compared to those of today.

The permanent exhibition of the Warrior Princes is housed here, divided into six rooms illustrating the period from the Palaeolithic to the Renaissance. Various valuable finds are on display, such as the ‘Ciottolo di Lustignano’, which bears an engraved image of a bison, one of the oldest testimonies of prehistoric art in Tuscany. Another valuable find is the monumental Etruscan stele of Pomarance (6th century B.C.).
