September in San Giuliano Terme

‘Settembre Sangiulianese’ is San Giuliano Terme’s traditional cultural and entertainment festival, bringing together musical performances, artistic events and entertainment.

A preview takes place on 29 August with the 12th edition of Enigmando, a puzzle festival featuring a competition dedicated to Marin Faliero – the pseudonym of Marino Dinucci, a historic local chemist who for years made San Giuliano Terme the capital of puzzles

On Tuesday 1 September at 9.00 pm, at the Parco della Pace, Fiorella Mannoia will open the celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the town’s foundation with a concert dedicated to the songs of Fabrizio De André and Ivano Fossati – an event that is free and open to all. Free entry, no booking required, subject to availability.

On Wednesday 9 September at 9.00 pm, at the Parterre, Caterina Guzzanti will perform ‘Secondo lei’, a show about fragility – a long, intimate and delicate stream of feminine thought.

On Friday 11 September at 9.30 pm, at the Parco della Pace in Pontasserchio, the Pink Floyd Symphony will perform a concert for peace. This orchestra, comprising around fifty musicians and two solo vocalists, will bring the best of the historic London band’s repertoire to the stage.

From 13 September to 18 October, dramatised guided tours will be taking place as part of the celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of the founding of the Municipality of San Giuliano Terme.
Six Sundays to discover places, stories and interesting facts, accompanied by two exceptional figures: Pietro Leopoldo of Lorraine, the Grand Duke who spearheaded the reforms that led to the establishment of the Community of San Giuliano in 1776; and Mary Shelley, who will transport us to the romantic atmosphere of the 19th century, when San Giuliano and its thermal baths were frequented by European travellers and intellectuals.
