Running Race Volterra – San Gimignano

The traditional running race, now in its 39th year,  will take place on 22 October. Nearly 30 km, almost 20 of which are on dirt roads, and a difference in altitude of 963 metres make this a unique race, passing through the woods and nature reserve of Castelvecchio, culminating about halfway up the Cornocchio at an altitude of 620 metres.

The regional road running event will start at 9 a.m. from Piazza del Duomo in San Gimignano and finish in Piazza dei Priori in Volterra.

Participation is open to athletes born in 2001 and earlier, Italians and foreigners registered with clubs affiliated to FIDAL or with RUNCARD or EPS membership cards that have signed an agreement with FIDAL in the Promesse and Seniores (20 – 99 years old) male and female categories not included in the elite lists.
