Visiting the “Carlo Pepi art collection” | Crespina

01/09/2026 - 30/09/2026

Comune di Crespina Lorenzana, Piazza Cesare Battisti, Crespina

Villa Museo Carlo Pepi

The extraordinary private Carlo Pepi Collection, about 15,000 works of contemporary art, is displayed in two villas of Crespina: in Via I Gioielli and Piazza Battisti.

Due to the passing of Prof. Pepi, only the Villa in Via I Gioielli is confirmed to be available, but only from September 2026 as it is currently undergoing renovation and reorganisation of its spaces and artistic materials.

Pepi was the founder of the “Casa Natale Modigliani”, where he created a study centre with books and documents about the the artist. Crespina and its landscape have often attracted many artists, in particular the Macchiaioli and their heirs, including Silvestro Lega, the Tommasi, Adolfo and his brothers Angiolo and Ludovico, Francesco and Luigi Gioli (born in the area) or Giorgio Kienerk (see its museum in Fauglia).
