The Natural History Museum of the University of Pisa is pleased to present the temporary exhibition curated by Naturaliter. The exhibition will be open from 18 March 2022 to 29 January 2023.On the occasion of the opening, Friday 18 March 2022, the Museum welcomes visitors by offering free admission to the exhibition and to the whole Museum for the whole day.

From the myths of the classical world to the divinities of ancient Egypt and the popular beliefs that are lost in time, the mysterious creatures and fascinating monsters that have always populated our imagination are brought back to life in spectacular reconstructions to bring us back to childhood and take us on a magical journey into the wonderful world of fantasy.

Pegasus, the Arabian phoenix, the unicorn and a 13-metre-long dragon are just some of the more than 30 mythological subjects on display, faithfully reconstructed on the basis of the tales of poets, historians and naturalists of antiquity. The exhibition, enriched by original sets and video projections, takes place in the oldest rooms of the Certosa, adjacent to the largest freshwater aquarium in Italy.
