Centro storico Staffoli
centro, piazze e luoghi limitrofi

Some historians believe that in the 13th century there was an “ospitale” (hospital) close to the hamlet of Staffoli giving care, shelter and refreshment to the pilgrims along the Via Francigena. The neverending struggle between good and evil is repeated and re-enacted in Staffoli during the Medieval Day.

Every year a different subject. Piazza Panattoni and Via Livornese are the frame of the Medieval feast starting in the afternoon on the first Sunday of September: re-enactments and horse battles, archery contest and falconry demonstrations. A little medieval market with taverns and the big table in the street with a medieval banquet.
