Guided tour at the National Museum of Palazzo Reale | Gioco del Ponte, 27th June

27/06/2026 ore: 11:00 - 12:00

Museo Nazionale di Palazzo Reale, Lungarno Pacinotti, 46, Pisa

On 27 June at 11.00 am, to mark the day of the Gioco del Ponte, the National Museum of the Royal Palace opens its doors for a journey through time to discover one of Pisa’s oldest traditions. Visitors will explore its rooms to learn about the origins of the Gioco and its evolution up to the present day.

During the tour, there will be a dedicated stop in the Sala delle Armature – whose artefacts date back to the 16th century – to examine the strategic and tactical aspects, as well as the complex symbolism, that characterise the Gioco del Ponte.

At the end of the tour, families can design their own personalised ‘targone’, choosing which side to support – Tramontana or Mezzogiorno – and test it in a fun, symbolic re-enactment of the Gioco.
