Museo Storia Naturale, Via Roma, Calci
On 10 May, in Piazza Piero Angela in Calci, the first edition of the Science Festival will take place – a public science event aimed at young and old alike, organised in collaboration with the Natural History Museum of the University of Pisa.
From 10.30 am, the public can take part in a programme packed with activities, including themed stands, workshops and interactive experiences. Four stands will be run by Semi di Scienza, featuring interactive workshops based on experiments, observations and practical activities.
The others will be run by the Natural History Museum, with activities dedicated to the natural world; by the Associazione Astrofili Pisani Galileo Galilei APS, with initiatives aimed at both adults and children; and by Legambiente Pisa, with activities focused on scientific environmentalism.
The event will conclude at 5.30 pm with the show “Fisica sognante” by Federico Benuzzi, dedicated to the physics of juggling.
Since the 1980s, the Museum has been located in the charming Certosa di Pisa in Calci, a 14th-century building of inestimable historical and architectural value. The Museum preserves and enhances its collections, organises and supports study and research plans, in collaboration with university departments and other national and international bodies, and curates educational activities. It also hosts cultural events and temporary exhibitions, implements projects in cooperation with the local area and manages inclusion programmes.
