Sunday 17 March, the Museum participates in the ‘Spring Festival. Camellias, stories, dreams’ in the village at the foot of the Nicosia convent, with a series of activities for children entitled ‘Animals to dream and dreams to cultivate. On Saturday 23 March, the Museum participates in the “Feast of the Walkers. Sharing the Earth” with the activity “I TESORI DEL MONTE PISANO. From playground to garden”, in the Museum Garden from 10.00 to 11.00.
The Museum, following the publication of the game-guide “The treasures of Monte Pisano II. Le piante e i funghi”, has also created a garden dedicated to the spontaneous plants of Monte Pisano, as an ideal starting point for getting to know the natural environments of Monte Pisano, and is showing it for the first time with a guided tour held by the curator. Since the 1980s, the Museum has been located in the charming Certosa di Pisa in Calci, a 14th-century building of inestimable historical and architectural value. The Museum preserves and enhances its collections, organises and supports study and research plans, in collaboration with university departments and other national and international bodies, and curates educational activities. It also hosts cultural events and temporary exhibitions, implements projects in cooperation with the local area and manages inclusion programmes.
