A day to discover the Tower Belforti medieval tower house mentioned in the novel by Gabriele D’Annunzio “Forse che sì forse che no”, which dominates the historic center of the charming village of Montecatini Val di Cecina, home of the former copper mine of Camporciano, now the Museum of Mining, in the 19th century the most important in Europe.
The Tower, now a family run Bed & Breakfast, is 28 metre high, has a quadrangular escarpment base and it is made out of selagite; the lower part is obtained from using alternate rows of light and dark coloured stones.
The walls have various depths which may vary; from more than three metres at the base to more than two metres up top
