Children’s Carnival | Cascina

The Town Hall of Cascina, together with the shopkeepers of Corso Matteotti, organises the Children’s Carnival: two days of fun on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 February from 3 p.m. onwards

Cascina still retains a mediaeval air, thanks to the remains of the city walls and a Civic Tower, but above all the Parish Church of Santa Maria – in Pisan-Romanesque style – and the characteristic Oratory of San Giovanni, which belonged first to the Knights of Jerusalem and then to the Knights of Malta. The exterior appearance does not reflect the beauty inside, frescoed by the Sienese artist Martino di Bartolomeo with Stories from the Old and New Testament
