Chase the Sun by bike | Pisa and Tirrenia

Now in its 8th edition, the event will set off at dawn on 20 June from Cesenatico (on the Romagna Riviera) and finish in Tirrenia (on the Pisan coast) before sunset on the longest day of the year – or rather, on the Saturday closest to the summer solstice.

Two routes for 2026, both featuring new sections. The first climb to Rocca delle Caminate has changed, and the section through Florence has been slightly altered, with a climb to the iconic ‘selfie point’ at Piazzale Michelangelo. The section between Signa and Comeana has been modified; after the descent from Poggio Tempesti, the route returns to pass through Ponte a Cappiano

The route then enters the Terre di Pisa via Via Lungomonte, Ponte alla Navetta, Calcinaia, Vicopisano, where the two routes split into the Classic and Optional Climb. The routes rejoin in front of the Certosa di Calci, with the section through the city of Pisa and the exit from the city modified to include a stretch along the riverbank. Then along the Trammino cycle path to the finish, passing by the Basilica of San Piero a Grado.
Special guest: Miguel Indurain, winner of five Tour de France titles and two Giro d’Italia titles.
