01/09/2023 - 10/09/2023 ore: 10:00 - 19:00
Palazzo Blu, Lungarno Gambacorti, 9, Pisa
Like every summer, an exhibition dedicated to graphics and comics will be organised at Palazzo Blu. From 18 May to 10 September 2023, it will be possible to visit the exhibition featuring one of the great masters of Italian comics: Igort, pseudonym of Igor Tuveri.
Born in Cagliari on 26 September 1958, he is today one of the most important contemporary Italian artists, endowed with an extraordinary multifaceted talent: not only a well-known cartoonist whose stories have been translated all over the world, but also an inventive and cultured director, a sophisticated editor, an experimental musician, and more. The exhibition ‘Crossing Forms’ allows visitors to admire a selection of original drawings from some of Igort’s greatest hits.
One of the rooms of the exhibition will be dedicated to the ‘Japanese Notebooks’. Igort has dedicated numerous illustrated collections to Japan, ‘the paradise of draughtsmen’, but not only: of great directors, writers, philosophers, known throughout time. A journey, or rather a path of inner growth, that the author has recounted in a marvellous trilogy (Un viaggio nell’impero dei segni, Il vagabondo del manga, Moga, mobo, Mostri) that introduces the reader to the discovery of a distant world.
