On Saturday 20 May, ‘Bee Day’ takes place. Now in its second edition, the initiative aims to draw attention to the world of beekeeping in its various nuances: an educational stand on the activity of bees and how man uses their benefits not only for food, but also for therapy.

On the occasion of the Day, visit Valentina’s apiary, a day discovering the world of bees with a tasting of honey and local products! Reservations required by 18 May: 349 5348380 (Valentina – Podere Torricella, 65)

In October 2017, it was decided to celebrate World Bee Day on 20 May, a symbolically important date for beekeeping. This date coincides with the birth of Anton Janša (1734-1773), a Slovenian breeder and beekeeper who is mainly remembered as one of the forerunners of rational beekeeping. This date, therefore, is not only to remember this important pioneer of modern beekeeping techniques, but also the important role played by Slovenia in promoting this important day and beekeeping and bees in general.
