“Astiludio Extra Edition” – Flagweavers Contest | Volterra

Astiludio is a national flag throwing completion held in Volterra where the winner receives the Bravio, a plate decorated by local artists. At 3.15 pm the bells of the contrade-districts begin to ring and the four processions coming from their respective city gates make their way to the square and challenge each other in the completion.
The Astiludio re-enacts the 1406 festivities for the defeat of Pisa by Florence, then allied with Volterra.

Start: 3.00 pm . Green Pass or negative test 48 hours before are obligatory.
