From 1 July to 2 August, Tuscany comes to life through ‘Le Notti dell’Archeologia’ (Archaeology Nights), a programme of events dedicated to exploring the region’s archaeological heritage.
The theme for 2026 is ‘Archaeology that unites a divided world’, an opportunity to reflect on how celebrating the past can foster dialogue between cultures.
Museums, parks and archaeological sites become places to be experienced even outside their usual opening hours, with activities designed to bring different audiences closer to the region’s most ancient history. These are not just tours and talks, but opportunities to engage with these places through stories and new perspectives.
21 July in Montopoli in Valdarno: ‘The Secret of Giolitta – On the Trail of the Legend’. The tour starts from Piazza San Matteo, before entering the Civic Museum and its garden. Lasting around 1 hour, featuring absurd characters and plenty of laughter: more comedy than mystery! Limited places for each session: 7.30 pm · 9.00 pm · 9.30 pm. Booking essential
The evening coincides with ‘Degustiamo Montopoli’; before or after the show, you can enjoy the village with a glass of wine, local cured meats, a pizza or a truffle sandwich
28 July at 9.30 pm: ‘The Stones and the Stars’ at Buti Castle, organised by the Sant’Agata Association
