On Sunday 10 May, from 10.30 am and throughout the day, the snail-shaped village will be transported back to the Middle Ages, when on 2 August 1327 the fortified village, the first military outpost of the Valdarno, was conquered by the Florentine army following a long siege, defeating the Lord of Lucca, Castruccio Castracani, who had occupied Santa Maria a Monte in 1317.

Piazza della Vittoria will host a market with a street food area and falconry displays at 12 noon, 4 pm and 6.30 pm, as well as the traditional Gioco del Panforte, where anyone can take part in the tournament scheduled for 3.30 pm. In the streets of the village, there will be travelling performances featuring flag-wavers, inquisitors and the Cantori Bucellanti.
