Nature on the Walls of Pisa

“Nature on the Walls” features nature tours focused on the natural and semi-natural microhabitats along the walls, including animal observation, listening to birdsong, and examining animal tracks.

Sunday 20 September: a special event to discover the nature that thrives… above the city!
An urban nature-themed guided tour with Marco Zuffi from the University of Pisa’s Natural History Museum, exploring the flora and fauna that inhabit the high-altitude ecosystem of the city walls.
We’ll observe plants and animals, listen to the sounds around us and look for signs of lizards and other small creatures, which find a unique habitat on the city walls: a veritable ecological corridor in the heart of the city.
We recommend comfortable shoes, water, a hat and a pair of binoculars.
Departure: 3 pm from the Wooden Tower
