Pisa Gospel Festival

The 13th edition of the Christmas festival will take place over two evenings for the first time: 16 and 18 December, offering the public a historical and artistic overview ranging from the deep roots of the African-American Spiritual tradition to contemporary Gospel.

The musical repertoire ranges from a cappella spirituals (traditional Negro spirituals, cotton plantation work songs) to contemporary and traditional gospel, featuring different styles, rhythms and arrangements, in choir and double choir a cappella formations or accompanied by piano, live band and orchestra. The Voices of Heaven Gospel Choir was founded in Pisa in 2006 when a small ensemble of voices gathered at the Church of Santa Eufrasia.
