Local food market fair | San Miniato

Every morning on the third Sunday of the month, from March to December, from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm, the ’ Mercato della Terra farmers’ market takes place under the Loggias of San Domenico.

It is dedicated to local, fresh and seasonal produce, where small-scale producers sell directly what they grow and process, guaranteeing quality, sustainability and the promotion of the local area.

On Sunday 20 September, the new season kicks off with a celebration of one of the region’s finest produce: the GRAPE, and its ‘wonderful juice’ – a gift from nature which, in the hands of the producers, becomes must, wine and more.

For kids a creative ‘Wine Painting’ workshop to discover grapes in a special way. For adults a small tasting session featuring products where this precious gift of nature takes centre stage, offering a chance to savour local pairings, traditions and flavours. And, of course, the producers showcasing what they grow and share with passion, while respecting the land and the seasons.

It is an opportunity to shop mindfully and discover the finest produce our land has to offer.The Cloister of San Domenico, in the heart of San Miniato, consists of three tiers of loggias on a square plan. It is one of the town’s best-known landmarks. As well as housing the Municipal Library and the Museum of Memory, it provides access to the Vicoli Carbonai. During festivals and fairs, it hosts numerous stalls selling everything from local specialities such as truffles to collectables and vintage items.
